WHAT ARE THEY THINKING?

No Longer A
Rumor!:
Supervisor Catalino & The Town Board Are Supporting (By Not
Opposing) The Housing Of Paroled Sex Offenders At Green Gables
(Route 5 & Bennett Road)!! Do We Really
Want Convicted Sex Offenders A Few Hundred Feet
From Our High School & Little League Facilities? What Is
Supervisor Catalino And The Town Board Thinking? They Can’t Be
Thinking About The Welfare Of The Women And Children Of This Town!
How Can They Allow Convicted Sex Offenders To
Be Housed So Closes To The Town’s Schools And Little League Fields
Without Putting Up A Big Fight? When First Questioned On This
Issue, The Town Board Denied Knowing About This. Now, Their
Attitude Is, Oh Well, There’s Nothing We Can Do To Stop It.
Besides, Those Sex Offenders Being Housed Will Be Bed And Wheel
Chair Ridden. The Only Thing That Is For Certain Is That If The
Town Board Does Not Fight These Proposals, Residents Will Suffer
The Consequences For Years To Come.
One Resident
Stated That This Might Not Be A Big Problem Because All Convicted
Sex Offenders Have To Be Registered. But Think About It. If Your
Kid At The Fire Hall, Little League Fields Or Even Chick’s
Restaurant, How Will Your Child Know If He/She Is In The Company
Of A Convicted Sex Offender? There Won’t Be Any Tattoos On Their
Foreheads Saying “Registered Sex Offender”!
A Town Resident,
Who Is A Parole Officer, Told The Town Board That These Convicted
Sex Offenders Will Arrive In Wheel Chairs But After A Few Weeks
They Will Recover To The Point Where They Will Be Able To “Walk
Around Town”!
There Is A Place
For These Facilities But Not At Locations So Close To Our Schools
And Little League Fields. If This Town Board Can’t Fight This
Fight, Maybe In November We Can Elect Candidates Who Will Be
Willing To Take Up This Fight. We Should Be Informed By The Town
Board Of These Type Of Issues Facing Our Town. Residents Should
Not Have To Attend Town Board Meetings To Confirm These Rumors And
The Rest Of Us Should Not Find Out About These Issues By Reading
Chuck Militello’s Letters In The Angola Penny Saver.
