The Airport Site on
Eden Evans Center Road Was a Topic of Concern at the 4-6-2005
Town Board Meeting. A Neighbor Told the Town Board She Could
Smell Paint Coming from a Paint Booth on the Property.
Residents Have Seen Motorcycles Using the Runway as a Drag
Strip. The Board Was Questioned as to Questioned Why the
Owners of the Property Were Allowed to Have Operations on the
Property That Required Four Different Zoning Classifications.
Since the Airport Closed, this Property Has Been Used from
Everything from Composting to Retail.
When I Remodeled
a House in Eden, I Had to Spend $250.00 to Notify Neighbors
That I Wanted to Add a Deck. Every Other House on That Street
Had a Deck but Eden Still Made Me Play by the Rules. That's
Open Government. Neighbors Were Given a Chance to Air Their
Concerns BEFORE the Deck Was Built. When Problems Come up Here
in Evans, We Have to Fight for Our Rights after the Fact. All
Too Often in Evans, Neighbors and Residents Are Notified When
the Open for Business Sign Goes Up.
The Federal
Government Spent $2.6 Million Dollars

on this Airport. More Money Was
Scheduled to Be Spent after the Airport Opened. An Airport
Would Be a Tremendous Asset to the Town of Evans. It Was
Featured in the Video about the Town That Was Produced a Few
Years Back.
