Village of Angola
Government Dissolution
The Supreme Court Hearing is rescheduled to a later date due
to a change in the appointed judge.
The latest "buzz" of local government pursuing improved
effiency is evidence of a continuous effort for success.
Sitting back and watching accepts the status quo while
considering options for tax relief will offer any
municipality a chance at tax savings and longevity. The
Buffalo News article on 4/19/04 provided positive evidence
of area governments working together to find ways of saving
dollars and preserving wealth in their community.
As communicated in the flyer from the Department of State,
Village Dissolution is a term associated with a village
government. At one time, a village entity and governing
body of trustees spawned the growth of communities. The
expansion of intercommerce trade, railroad transportation of
goods and the global economy now challenges the very
existence and necessity of a village governing body. A
village government "elected for the people, by the people"
will service residents and foster local autonomy. The
question we ask ourselves is "do we need a village governing
body of trustees?" Based on data published to date
regarding village government dissolution, Angola can easily
operate less a "Village" government entity. The tax
incentives are encouraging while town residents are
esentially unchanged.
The Town of Evans Board is silent on this issue. The
ability of Evans to review, support and diagnose the impact
of a village government dissolution is the underlining
mechanism for change to occur. Support a Village Government
Dissolution in respect for our identity, local businesses
and the name Angola.
